Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day one: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and evening game drive

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and evening game drive: On day one of 5 days primate safari in Uganda after an early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide for your safari will pick you up and transfer you to Queen Elizabeth national park. The journey to the park is rewarding because you get to experience amazing experiences during the different stopovers like the equator in Kayabwe where you will take part in the northern and southern hemisphere experiments, after the rewarding experiences, you will make your way to the park you will have another stopover at Imigongo cultural center for lunch and then transfer to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will take park. On reaching the park you will transfer to your hotel for checkins, refreshments, and later in the evening you will participate in the evening drive where you will get to see a number of wildlife as they get to catch the last bite of the day. You will see a number of herbivores like the zebras, Uganda kobs, and antelope species among other animal species. You will also get to see nocturnal animals like lions, leopards hyenas catching prey for dinner. After the rewarding experiences you will transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day two: Chimpanzee tracking and evening boat cruise

Chimpanzee tracking and evening boat cruise: On day two of your 5 days primate safari in Uganda after an early morning breakfast at your hotel in the park, your tour guide for the safari will pick you up and transfer you to Kyambura gorge also known as the valley of apes where you will participate in chimpanzee trekking. The activity will involve you to spend time with the habituated chimpanzee troops observing their behavior in the wild, how they co-exist with one another, their feeding patterns, how they take care of their infants among other exciting features of the primates. You will also get to take pictures of the primates at the end of your tracking experience you will head back to your hotel for lunch and relaxation. In the evening you will participate in an evening boat cruise to take off the stress during the relaxing activity. During the boat cruise you will see the park coming to life as the sunsets; you will also see a number of herbivores like the zebras, elephants, kobs as they get to catch the last bite of the day, crocodiles sun basking, a number of water birds like the African King fisher, African Wattled Lapwing, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Common Squacco Heron, Crowned Lap wing, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Great Egret among other species. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: On day two of your, 5 days primate safari in Uganda after an early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide for your safari will pick you up and transfer you Bwindi impenetrable national park through the Ishasha sector where you will have the chance to see the tree climbing lions. On reaching the Bwindi Impenetrable National park you will transfer to your hotel for checkins, refreshments. Later on you will participate in nature walks in the evening to have an amazing time during your safari where you will get to see a number of bird species like Rockefellers’ sun bird, Chapin’s flycatcher, Rwenzori Batis, strange weaver, red throated alethe and so on, you will also get to see numerous primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, the red tailed monkeys, vervet monkey among other primate species.

Day four: Gorilla trekking

You will have a briefing session of the rules and regulations to follow during the activity like limiting noise during the presence of the gorillas, avoiding eye contact with the primates among other rules and regulations to follow. After the briefing session you will make your way to the park to locate the habituated gorilla family which you will spend an hour understanding their behavior in the wild like their feeding patterns, how they co-exist with one another, how they settle conflicts amongst each other and other interesting features of the primates. Day five: departure
