It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and is underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks that date back more than 500 million years. It’s home to 350 bird species as well as zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi, and reedbuck. With efforts of the Uganda Wildlife Authority to restore Lake Mburo to its former glory, some animals such as lions and giraffes have been restored.

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Lake Mburo National Park and embark on an evening game drive
On the first day of your 3 Days Lake Mburo National Park Wildlife Safari, depending on your location in Kampala, your driver guide will pick you up, brief you about the tour, and then start the journey to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda.
As you travel towards Lake Mburo, you’ll drive along the picturesque Kampala-Mbarara Road, where you’ll get to see charming small towns along the way. This tour provides an opportunity to stop at the Equator crossing for photography and some experiments to prove that indeed this is the center of planet Earth. Upon reaching you’ll check in at your lodge at Mburo Eagle Nest where you will spend the entire stay, have lunch, and short relaxation. After your delicious lunch, your driver will pick you up for an evening game drive. During this game drive you can spot different wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, and elands, among others. After returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Wake up early in the morning, you will be served with breakfast at the lodge. After your driver guide will pick you up to go for a morning game drive. though Lake Mburo National Park has a bad history of Wildlife and humans to the extent that major animals like lions were hunted/killed to extinction due to an improved relationship between the government and the local communities, animals and communities are co-existing together. While on your game drive you will spot a variety of wildlife such as giraffes, elands, warthogs, elephants, buffaloes, other wildlife such as waterbucks, bushbucks, and Uganda Kobs, and views of different bird species among others.
Later after the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch. After your lunch, your guide will drive you to the landing site for an incredible evening boat cruise along lake Mburo. During the boat cruise which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you will be able to spot a variety of wildlife such as hippos, and Nile crocodiles in water, and view buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs drinking water along the banks. Also, you will spot water birds like African finfoot, papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, African water rail, and white-backed night heron among others. After your boat cruise experience return to the lodge for dinner where you will stay overnight.
Day 3: Cultural visit and Departure
This is the last day of your 3 Days Lake Mburo National Park Wildlife Safari, wake up and have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide who will drive you to Kigogo Cultural Center. While you’ll be guided by local guides who will take you to Eriijukiro Museum for Ankole artifacts, traditional huts, and the Biharwe Eclipse Monument. Enjoy guided tours and village walks, and shop at Nkwanzi Crafts for unique souvenirs. Experience authentic Ankole traditions and performances in the Cultural Village. Igongo offers a rich, immersive cultural journey. After exploring the Center, and continued the drive back to Kampala with lunch served en route.
Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at any place of convenience.
