Detailed Itinerary for 14 Days Explore Uganda Safaris
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be picked by the hotel representative driver guide to drive you to your hotel in Entebbe. Arrive, check into the hotel, rest, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Rhino Trekking –Murchison Falls National Park
On this day, you will be picked up early morning after your breakfast and connect to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking. From Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive. After tracking, connect to drive to Murchison Falls National with en –route lunch.
After lunch, proceed a drive to the park with a visit to the top of the falls before you proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning Game drive and launch cruise
Early morning breakfast and then go for a morning game drive at the delta where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others.
Return and have lunch then at 2 pm, you set off for a launch cruise at the bottom of the Murchison Falls along River Nile, enjoy streaming views of hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. After the boat cruise at the bottom of the falls, you will be picked up by your driver to return to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at lodge as the above
Day 4: Transfer to Toro Semiliki Reserve –Evening game drive
After a relaxed breakfast, then drive to Semiliki National Park with lunch en-route in Fort portal town. Continue a drive to Semiliki with en-route stop for pictures and views of the craters. Upon arrival at the reserve, enjoy a game drive while connecting to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at your designated lodge.
Day 5: Go visit the hot springs and Amabere caves ad crater lakes
After breakfast, transfer to Semuliki National Park’s headquarters for registration and after visit the hot springs of Sempaya and the pygmies at their new settlement at Ntandi. Thereafter, drive back to fort portal town and visit Amabere caves and waterfalls. After, drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Bigodi swamp walk
Have breakfast and embark on your drive to Kibale national park- the best safari destination in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Arrive in Fort portal town at good time for lunch, then connect for a nature walk at Bigodi swamp for about 2 hours then drive to your lodge; check-in and later have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee trekking with your packed food and water. Meet your guide at the head office then enter the rainforest to start searching for the chimpanzee, this will take 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees. On seeing them, you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures.
After tracking, embark on a 3 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth national park from Fort portal with en-route lunch. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 8: Morning game drive and Boat cruise
After breakfast early morning, go for a lion tracking experience where you are guaranteed to view the lions, enjoy an en-route game drive at the Kisenyi area where you will spot a good number of wildlife including Elephants, Buffaloes, and all species of antelopes.
After enjoying your lunch at the lodge, go for your boat trip along the Kazinga channel for yet another wildlife/bird watching experience as you cruise on lake Edward/George. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
After breakfast, drive out of the park to connect to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park (home of Uganda Mountain Gorillas) with en-route via Ishasha sector for chances of spotting the tree climbing lions. Proceed with en-route lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Gorilla trekking experience.
Wake up early, have breakfast, and connect to the forest with your packed food and water. The briefing from the park warden about the gorillas starts at 8 am where your will be guided on highlights about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from 2-8 hours. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away. Return to the lodge to unwind and dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 11: Cultural tour and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast on day 12 of the safari you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an exciting cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, way of living, visit their homesteads, enjoy their cultural performances among others.
After the community tour, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch where after you will check out of the lodge and start the journey to Lake Bunyonyi which is the second deepest lake in Africa. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Boat cruise and cultural tour
After having breakfast and then go for an interesting boat cruise where you will be able to explore some of the 29 islands, view different bird species, terraced farmlands among others. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch where after you will either spend the rest of the day at leisure or go for an optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the local people learn about their way of living among others. After the cultural tour, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park-afternoon boat cruise
After a delicious breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Mburo national park. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch where after you will go for an afternoon boat cruise where you will be able to view hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs drinking water along the shores, water birds among others. After the boat cruise you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala
After an early breakfast on the last of the safari, you will go for a morning game drive in the park where you will be rewarded with great views of animals like waterbucks, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, topi, giraffes, warthogs among others which will be grazing in open savannah plains with due.
After the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch and a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take photos, buy craft items and then continue the journey to Kampala arriving in early evening. Upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of your advice.
