12 Days Uganda safari

This 12 Days Uganda safari is  offers a rich experience of Uganda’s most visited destination  Murchison falls national park , Kibale forest national park, queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi forest national park for gorilla trekking  and later Mgahinga for golden monkey trekking, therefore having a rich experience of Uganda.

Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Our representative will welcome you given your arrival at Entebbe international airport and transfer to Murchison falls national park-Uganda’s largest national park in the northwestern part. This is a 4-5 hours’ drive with stopover lunch and Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola district where you will spend minimum 2 hours before proceed to Masindi then finally the park.

Arrive in the park in the evening then connect to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari lodge (Luxury), Fort Murchison lodge (mid-range), Red chill rest camp (budget)

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise and hiking

On the 2nd day of your 12 Days Uganda safari, after an early breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a morning game drive on the Northern Bank of River Nile. The activity takes about 3-5 hours and be able to view variety of wildlife including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants and bee-eater.

You will then hike up to find the falls through Bakers trail and also be able to stand at bakers stone (brings you closer to the bottom of the falls) this hike is a bit tuff but it’s fascinating as you will enjoy to see the falls at different points and finally when you reach at the top of the falls, you will be amazed and eventually forget about the tuff hike. After spending a good time at the top of the falls, you will meet your driver who will transfer you back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at as above.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale national park

Set off early after having breakfast at the lodge, embark on a full day drive to Kibale national park with en routes. Dinner and overnight stay at Kyaninga lodge (luxury), Chimps Nest (mid-range), Chimpanzee guest house (budget)

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking experience and afternoon nature walk

On the 4th day of your 12 Days Uganda safari, after early morning breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking and birding. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. This primate walk will take 2-5 hours searching for the gorillas. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures. After the activity, connect for lunch in fort portal town.

After lunch you will then proceed to Bigodi wetland for a nature walk/swamp walk. While here you will enjoy viewing different species of birds. Return to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner will be served at the lodge, overnight stay at Kyaninga lodge (luxury), Chimps Nest (mid-range), Chimpanzee guest house (budget) as above

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and afternoon boat cruise

After early morning breakfast, embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which a 3-4 hours’ drive from Fort portal with lunch and equator en route. Arrive early in the park for your afternoon a boat trip along the Kazinga channel. During the boat trip you will enjoy watching the densely populated hippos along the lake also including crocodiles and other animals; the elephants, buffaloes and bird species on the banks. Day 6: Morning game drive, exploration craters

Set off after having breakfast at the lodge to Kasenyi area for a fascinating game drive where you will be able to view great numbers of animals including the savannah elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes including the Oribi, Uganda kobs, waterbucks to mention a few.

Through Kasenyi track, visit the crater lakes region with its dark lakes and rich grassland set deep into the volcanic craters, this provides an opportunity for great photos on this scenic drive which covers the highest points in the park.

After the activity, proceed for lunch then to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge (Luxury), Park View Lodge (Midrange), Pumba Safari cottages (Budget)

Day 7: Ishasha game drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

After you have had breakfast, meet the driver for your transfer to Kisoro district through Ishasha sector-home to the tree climbing lions. Approximately 4-5 hours’ drive with lunch stopover. Arrive at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Clouds Mountain Gorilla lodge (luxury), Ichumbi gorilla lodge (mid-range), Gorilla safari lodge (budget)

Day 8: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park

On the 8th day of your 12 Days Uganda safari, have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by the park warden then connect to the forest to search for the gorillas. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your ranger guide will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful evening. Day 9: Golden monkeys experience in Mgahinga gorilla national park and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about the golden monkeys by the park warden then connect to the forest to search for the beautiful primates. The time taken is usually between 2-6 hours depending on their movement. Meeting the golden monkeys is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with them, your ranger guide will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you for lunch in Kisoro town. Then drive to Kabale district which is about one and a half drive. Then connect to your lodge at Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi Eco resort (luxury), Bunyonyi Overland resort (mid-range), Bunyonyi safari resort/Bushara Island camp (budget)

Day 10: All day activities-nature walk, canoeing and cultural tour at Lake Bunyonyi

After having breakfast, you will go for a nature walk around the lake shores listening to the singing birds, tearing water and feeling the fresh breeze-Lake Bunyonyi means place with many birds, about 200 bird species were recorded. After there go for a boat ride/canoeing on the deepest lake of Uganda and second in Africa, you will explore the quietness, calmness and the tranquility of the lake and connect for a cultural tour as you visit the historical islands and see the way of life of people staying in the islands and enjoy their charming cultural dance. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi Eco resort (luxury), Bunyonyi Overland resort (mid-range), Bunyonyi safari resort/Bushara Island camp (budget) as above

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

Set off to Lake Mburo national park after having your delicious breakfast. This will take approximately 3 hours driving from Lake Bunyonyi to the park. You will have a stopover lunch at Igongo cultural center in Mbarara. Arrive at the park early for a boat ride and later in the evening, do a night game drive and get an opportunity to see the rare leopards (though no guarantee). Day 12: Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, drive through the park (game drive) and out of the park to connect for your transfer to Kampala city. This is a 5 hours’ drive with stopover lunch and at the equator for an experience, taking pictures. Retreat from there and later arrive in Kampala then connect to Entebbe international airport for your departure flight back home.
