Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Highlights of Tanzania Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and proceed to Serengeti National Park in the northern part of Tanzania. You will have a stopover for lunch enroute to the park.
Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park is well-known for its thriving resident animal population, notably the “Big Five,” which are called after the five most valuable trophies acquired by hunters. The Serengeti is said to have the biggest lion population in Africa, because to the availability of prey species. There are almost 3,000 lions in this environment.
Dinner and overnight stay at your selected lodge in the park.
Day 2&3: Full Day Game Viewing in Serengeti National Park
Following breakfast at the camp, go on a full-day game drive around the park, looking for big cats and the Big Five. In the afternoon, your driver will set and arrange the table for a complete hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main course, and fruit salad), followed by a glass of wine and tea or coffee. Return to the camp in the late afternoon for supper and an overnight stay.
Witness the epic migration, in which a million wildebeest, each propelled by the same old rhythm, play their innate role in the unbreakable cycle of life. It’s a three-week frenzy of territorial conquests, mating, and survival of the fittest as 40 km (25 mile) long columns dive through crocodile-infested waterways. They continue their yearly migration north, renewing the species in a temporary population boom that produces almost 8,000 calves every day. The 1,000-kilometer (600-mile) trek will then resume.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
Following breakfast at the camp, travel to Ngorongoro for a full-day crater tour. At the crater, your driver will set and arrange the table for a delicious lunch (soup, bread rolls, main course, and fruit salad), followed by a glass of wine and tea or coffee. Return to the camp in the late afternoon for supper and an overnight stay.
The diamond in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep volcanic crater, the world’s biggest unflooded and unbroken caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater is a spectacular natural marvel that is 20 kilometers in width, 600 meters in depth, and covers 300 square kilometers. We will go to Lake Magadi, a big but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern portion and one of the crater’s principal characteristics. Hippos, flamingos, and other water birds are common sights here.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park- Walking Safari
Following breakfast at the lodge, go on a morning walking safari across Lake Manyara National Park, accompanied by an armed ranger. Continue with a game drive in the park till the afternoon. During midday, your driver will set and arrange the table for a delicious lunch (soup, bread rolls, main dish, and fruit salad), followed by a glass of wine and tea or coffee. After lunch, proceed on a game drive. Return to the lodge for supper and an evening game drive, followed by an overnight stay.
Manyara offers an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s birds. More than 400 species have been documented, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might expect to see 100 of them in one day. Manyara’s famed tree-climbing lions and massively tusked elephants frequent a narrow band of acacia forest inside the floodplain.
Day 6: Tarangire National Park- Game Viewing
Following breakfast, go to Tarangire for a full-day game drive through Tarangire National Park. Your driver will set the table for a cooked lunch (soup, bread rolls, main course, and fruit salad), followed by a glass of wine and tea or coffee. In the evening, check into the camp for supper and sleeping.
Tarangire National Park is situated little off the regular safari path. It is a peaceful, calm park in Northern Tanzania, well known for its elephant migration, birdwatching, and real safari feel. The bulk of visitors to the region either skip Tarangire entirely or visit the park for a few hours, leaving portions of it nearly unspoiled.
Day 7: Transfer to Arusha
After having your breakfast today, you will check out of your lodge and meet up with your driver guide. You will then head back to Arusha city where your driver guide will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or Kilimanjaro International Airport as you will advise.
