4 Days Volcanoes, Nyungwe and Kahuzi Biega Safari: This is 4 Days Rwanda and Congo combined safari that takes you to Volcanoes national park and Nyungwe forest national park in Rwanda where you will be tracking golden monkeys and canopy walk respectively. You will also be tracking eastern lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Volcanoes, Nyungwe and Kahuzi Biega Safari
Day 1: Pickup in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes NP for Golden Monkey Trek
Pickup from your hotel in Kigali early morning at 4am and transfer to Volcanoes national park. Report at the briefing point at 7am before heading into the forest in search for golden monkeys. Golden monkey trekking can take between 4-6 hours or more depending on the location of the troupe. Have lunch and drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park and Canopy Walk. (Approximately 6 hours’ drive)
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Nyungwe park for a canopy walk with lunch enroute to the park.
After having your lunch, you will embark on a guided nature walk along the famous canopy walkway bridge- a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. This hike takes only 2 hours. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Cross to Bukavu in Congo (Approximately 2-3 hour’s drive)
Have breakfast at your hotel and then meet up with your driver guide. You will then drive to the Congo border at Cyangugu to Bukavu town in Democratic Republic of Congo. On arrival at Bukavu, nearest town to Kahuzi Biega, advance to your lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge or head out for an optional tour of Bukavu city. Later drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Lowland gorilla trekking and Transfer to Kigali
After enjoying your breakfast at the lodge, drive to the park headquarters for about 45 minutes for briefing about the Eastern lowland gorillas. You will then set off to your fascinating experience of the lowland gorillas in the valleys of Kahuzi as you encounter different mammals, birds and primates. It’s usually a 1-6 hours’ experience of the jungle, depending on their movement while watching them interact/play with each other as you take photos and videos
You will then descend back and meet up with your driver to drive back to Rwanda. You will cross and connect to Kigali where your driver guide will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or at Kigali international airport if you have to fly back to Kigali.
End of 4 days Volcanoes, Nyungwe and Kahuzi Biega Safari.
Note that your Rwanda Visa expires immediately you cross into Congo so you will have to reapply for another while at the border and find it ready after the tour.
