packing list for a wildlife savannah safari and adventure : Usually when you say you are going for safari there isn’t a lot of separation to which safari exactly, usually people will group safaris as on generic experience. However, that’s not the case in reality, there are a number of safaris which include the savannah wildlife safari, primate safari, adventure safari, water safari and many more.
In this article we are going to focus on the savannah wildlife safari and adventure safari; and what you need on your packing list for these particular safaris.
Before we go into the packing list let’s better understand these safaris. The savannah wildlife safari is the safari that will take you into the wild to enjoy the diverse flora and fauna on either game drives or nature walks or boat rides and other activities; on this safari you also have some cultural experiences among other things. On the adventure side of the safari as the name suggests you will be in for an adventure like rock climbing, bungee jumping, ziplining, forest treks and many other things that are adventurous.
And because of the activities you will do on these safaris, you will need a specific packing list and here below in the packing list for both.
Attire
Which is basically what you will wear, you will need comfortable and light weighted neutral-colored clothes – colors like grey, maroon, khaki etc, weather friendly clothing for example if you are having your safari in the dry season, you will need more lighter clothing, and in the rainy season you will need rain coats and warmers. Footwear thinks of hiking boots, sneakers, sandals to leisure days among other things. And remember to carry accessories as well like sunglasses, Sunscreen, Insect repellents, lighters or flash lights, First-aid kit and others.
Equipment or gear
When it comes to equipment you will need think of elbow and knee guards for the adventurous activities, helmets still for adventure, Cameras of course, Binoculars and other equipment as shared with you by you tour operator.
Personal documents
These will include your Identification usually it’s the passport, then entry documents, your safari bookings an itinerary, accommodation reservation, vaccination cards, travel insurance and other documents.
In the personal items you can also carry self or personal safety items like personal alarm alert, pepper spray, a safety pack and others. Usually, you will not need to use these but its good you have them on you, they may come in handy especially if you are doing adventure and camping.
Basically, that’s packing list, but depending on your itinerary and the place you are going to visit, there may be other specific things you will so be sure to consult with your tour operator and consult to guide you on the other things you may need.
Also, somethings you may need for the safari like camping equipment may not be easy to carry with you and have them when you arrive in the country, so plan to hire. Your tour operator will advise on different hire places.
