There are a number of reasons why the number of people allowed to track a gorilla family is limited to only eight people among which include the fact that the gorillas are quite shy species and are easily distressed in situations where the number of travelers ae overwhelming which can hinder a number of activities of the species which can also lead them to attack you because large crowds trigger them off.
Another reason why the number of trackers is limited is because of the fact that the species are quite vulnerable species that can contract a number of diseases from the people, large numbers of hikers/ travellers can be hard to control which in a way can lead to uncontrolled noise which can trigger the gorillas which can lead them to attack your which can be fatal since gorillas are quite strong and heavy and are believed to weigh about 10 times the average weight of an average person.
