While carrying out the research on the gorillas, another problem the gorillas were facing was the poaching which was instigated by the locals in the neighbouring community that used a number of ways to poach the gorillas in the wild like bribing a number of rangers to get access to the premises, in the wild, they were able to come up with a number of ways which were detrimental to the gorillas like using a number of traps, they also used guns to kill the gorillas in the wild.
Because of such nature in the wild, it infuriated Dian Fossey who raided the poacher’s villages, killing their hunting dogs, burnt down their houses and their gardens and this gained a number of haters for Dian Fossey and this was no surprise when she was found dead in her cabin which was a devastating time for the conservationists worldwide and the different efforts that were being carried out because of the loss of an important person in the wild.
