Trip Description
Day 1: Connect from Kigali to Kituku port
- Boat transfer to Tchegera Island: Your driver guide will drive to pick you up from your agreed pick up point in Kigali at 9 am and you will exchange pleasantries and be briefed and set out to cross into DRCongo and drive up to the Kituku port for the boat. The boat trip to Tchegera Island is a 1 hour ride. You will arrive in time to check into our room at the Tchegera island retreat and connect back to the dining area for lunch at the island. You will spend the evening at leisure taking nature walks or by the shores and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Leave Tchegera Island to Kigali
- Half-day on Tchegera island: In the morning, you will wake up to a luxury breakfast at the lodge as you enjoy your last moments at the island shortly before you board the boat to leave the Island. You will arrive back on land and drive to Goma for lunch and further connect to Kigali for a drop of. You may take on the Kigali city tour if you are interested visiting the kimironko market and the Kigali Genocide memorial ground.
