This 7 Days Bwindi and Rwanda Tour takes you on a remarkable journey to Uganda and Rwanda where you will be trekking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and visit the Batwa people who live in the communities neighboring the national park. You will also visit Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda for chimpanzee trekking and the canopy walk. This tour begins and ends in Kigali, Rwanda.

Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Bwindi & Rwanda Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Following your arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative/driver guide and drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight at your hotel. A city tour can be arranged on this day if you wish.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Approximately 3-5 hours’ drive)
Have breakfast in the morning and drive to the Katuna border where you will cross into Uganda and proceed with your transfer to Bwindi. Have a stopover for lunch at Lake Bunyonyi which is one of the deepest lakes in Africa. You can opt for an afternoon boat ride on the lake and later drive to your lodge in Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
This is the long awaited day! You will have your breakfast early morning and meet your driver who is to transfer you to the park headquarters for the brief before the trek to guide you. This brief is conducted at 7am. After, you will be allocated the group to track and then set off into the forest to find these amazing creatures. This could go on from 2 hours to a half day until you meet them. When you meet them, you are allowed 1 hour to enjoy these creatures, study them, take photos (without a flash), but with a 6 meters’ distance.
After the trek, you may go back to your lodge to have lunch and rest. In the evening if not too fatigued, you can have an optional community tour visiting the local communities and attractions and then return to the lodge before the night falls. You will have dinner and spend a night at the lodge as night before.
Day 4: Batwa Community Tour & Transfer Back to Kigali (Approximately 3-5hours drive)
Have breakfast at leisure from your lodge. You will head out for a morning community tour to one of the Batwa local communities that leave outside Bwindi national park. Learn more about their interesting ancient culture and watch music and dance performances from the local dance troupe. Cross the Katuna border into Rwanda and proceed with your drive to Kigali with lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest and afternoon canopy walk (approximately 5-6 hours’ drive)
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Nyungwe forest National park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch enroute. After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer Back to Kigali
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 4 hours. You will then exit and connect to Kigali for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 7: Kigali City Tour and Departure
Wake up at leisure and have breakfast at your hotel. You will head out for a tour of Kigali city where you will visit places such as Caplaki craft village, Kimironko market, Kigali Genocide museum, Umusambi crane village to mention but a few. Drop off at Kigali airport.
