Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls safari
On the first day of your 7-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari, you will be greeted by our driving guide, who will pick you up depending on your location, give you a quick overview of the safari, and then begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park.
The journey takes roughly 5 to 6 hours and includes a detour at the Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking before continuing on with an en-route lunch. After lunch, you will continue your journey to the park, where you will drive right to the top of the falls to enjoy amazing views of the cascade as well as water splashes. From the top of the falls, travel to the resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Afternoon Boat cruise
On Day 2 of your 7-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari, you will have an early breakfast and meet your driver guide for a morning game drive where you will be able to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, warthogs, antelopes, and bird species, among others. After the wildlife drive, you will return to the resort for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on an afternoon boat tour to the bottom of the falls, where you will be able to see elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes on the water’s edge, as well as hippos and crocodiles in the water and aquatic bird species. After the boat excursion, you will return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night at the same lodge as the day before.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
On day three of your 7-day gorilla and Murchison Falls safari, you’ll wake up and eat breakfast before heading to Kibale National Park, also known as the primate capital. On the journey, you will stop for lunch, stretch your legs, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake Albert, Lake Edward, and Lake George, as well as the crater lakes and tea plantations. When you arrive in Kibale Forest National Park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
Following an early breakfast on day four of your 7-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge and transport you to the Kanyachu park headquarters for a chimp trekking briefing. Following the briefing, you will begin hiking into the jungle, which will take between 30 minutes and 4 hours depending on where the chimps are located.
During your trip, you will see other primates such as l’Hoest monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, and a variety of bird species. Once the chimps are located, you will be permitted to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, where you will be able to view them feeding, playing, fighting, hunting, resting, observing their habits, taking photographs, and recording movies. After the one-hour interaction with the chimps, you will return to the park headquarters to meet your driving guide before returning to the resort for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on an interesting swamp walk in Bigodi sanctuary to see a variety of bird species, mammals such as otters, bush pigs, Sitatunga, bushbucks, and primates such as blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, and l’Hoest monkeys, among others. After the nature walk, you will return to the lodge for supper and sleep, as described above.
Day 5: Transfer from Kibale national park to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will meet your driver guide and be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your 7-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari. On the journey, you will stop for lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands, and lovely landscapes, among other sights. When you arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on the sixth day of your 7-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari, you will bring a packed lunch and meet your driving guide at the park headquarters for a lecture on the laws and regulations to observe while gorilla trekking . Following the briefing, you will begin hiking into the forest, which will take between 30 minutes and 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are situated.
On your trip, you will be able to see a variety of bird species as well as primates such as l’Hoest monkeys. Once the gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, allowing you to learn more about their lifestyle and activities, snap photographs with a flashless camera, and record movies.
After the one-hour encounter with the gorillas, you will return to the starting point and be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will then meet your driver guide and be transferred back to your lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Day 7: Departure to Kampala
On the final day of your 7-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari, you will wake up, enjoy a relaxing breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide for the ride to Kampala. On your trip, you will eat en-route lunch and then continue your adventure with a detour at the Equator, where you will snap photographs and explore artisan stores that sell handcrafted items, art pieces, and souvenirs. From the Equator, you will travel to Kampala, where the driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe Airport for your departure flight or at any other location advised.
