Are group safaris better than sole safaris?
Are group safaris better than sole safaris? People are always wondering which safaris are better because they want to have the best safari experience when they go out there. One of the commonest questions we get from safari enthusiasts is that are group safaris better than sole safaris or is the vice versa true?
But this is a hard question for us to answer, because which safari is better for you is dependent on your individual preference not necessarily what we think. But even then we can share what we know about each Rwanda safari and let you be the judge of which is better.
For the purposes of this article sole means one person and group means two people and more.
- Fun
Because group safaris have more than 2 people they have the ability to create a lot of fun on the safari both on the road and at the safari destination – you have heard of the more the merrier saying; ya. But with fun also comes conflict, when people are many the chances of rubbing each other the wrong way are more than the chances of getting alone – that said some groups are so in sync they don’t have conflict.
Sole safaris on the other hand have you so you create your own fun without others – which is okay, some people enjoy alone time and since you are alone you will definitely not have conflict because every decision you make will favour you.
- Cost
Sole safari is more costly because you pay the entire bill of the safari alone. Even all the services you receive are paid sole so they cost a bit higher than the shared cost.
For group safaris on the other hand, they may cost cheaper because the bill of the safari is shared among the group so everyone pays a little bit for the safari a sole person pays alone. Also most safari destinations have discounted offers for persons more than 3 or 5, if your group is 3 or 5 and above people you will enjoy a number of discounts that will really cut your cost.
- Service
On a sole safari you get dedicated service on your Rwanda safari. You will ride in your safari car alone with your guide, stay in a room alone, go for safari activities. Literally you enjoy every service alone.
On a group safari however, most services not all though are shared, like you share the same safari car, tour guide, rooms, boat rides etc. The luxury of having everything alone is not there.
- Safari activities
Some safari activities even if you are alone require a group of people to do them. You as a sole person on your safari, you will be forced or you will have no choice but to group up with strangers to have the activity. And sometimes if the group is not full to the needed number or half the needed the required total number to do the activity you may miss out on the activity. Activities like primate trekking, boat rides, hiking expedition among others.
On the other hand, with groups chances are high you’re always the right number to do the safari activity and you don’t have to wait on the numbers to add up for you to have the activity.
That said the choice to have a group safari or not remains yours depending on your preference, plans and other factors in your life. But whatever safari you choose be rest assured you will have the best experience of you time. Safari destinations and tour operators always find a way to make you safari experience great whether alone or in a group.
