The Canopy Walk in Rwanda is found and can be experienced in one of the most exciting parts of the country. The canopy walk of Rwanda can be experienced on a Rwanda safari in the Nyungwe forest. This canopy walk way of Rwanda is a 70-meter-high canopy bridge that guests get to use to have an elevated view of the forest. The canopy walk way in the Nyungwe forest is a 160-meter-long bridge and usually takes guests about 2 hours to finish this walk.

The Canopy walkway in Nyungwe forest starts from the Uwinka Reception center and there are two scheduled groups per day that is at 9 am and the other at 2 pm after lunch. Guests will hike for a short distance on the Igishsigishi trail, one of the 19 hiking trails in Nyungwe forest national park and end up on this bridge. This is a long but an easy one to conquer so fear not to take on the activity.
The Uwinka Reception center is where the head office of the Nyungwe forest national park is situated and this is where most of the briefings for the activities in the park are held. The Uwinka reception is where you can also hire a porter and where the ranger guides to accompany you on the Rwanda safari are usually waiting.
If you are booked for this experience, there are a few necessities you will need to carry along like great hiking boots for the trail, a rain jacket in case of a down pour and maybe a snack if you are in the company of children. It is also great to carry along a bottle of water to keep refreshed and a camera or phone to capture the memories at the top.
This is an exciting but adrenaline pumping activity as you make your way from the start to midway and to the end that is why it is advisable to be in the best health state and physically fit.
